A trillion — triangular — cut set into a shank that waves rather than runs straight. Three points and a curve, and nothing else.
Peridot is green with gold behind it, which is unusual: most green stones cool down as they lighten. At 6.5 Mohs it is softer than topaz, so this is a piece to take off before anything rough. Also made in rainbow moonstone and amethyst.

Take it off before washing your hands, swimming, or sleeping — water and friction dull a setting faster than wear does.
Keep perfume, hairspray and cleaning products away from the stone; scent settles into the mount and clouds it.
Wipe with a dry, soft cloth after wearing.
Store it in the blush box it arrived in, away from other pieces — harder stones scratch softer ones.
